The photo taken a little more than an hour after sunset from a campground at 8,100 ft above sea level on a mountain chain between the Panamint Valley and Death Valley. Ideal conditions: clear skies, no wind and low humidity. It was easy to see the comet with the naked eye in the dark sky environment with no light pollution. In the foreground Fern Zalin can be seen obseving the comet with binoculars.
