Well the clouds gave way to clearing skies Friday evening. I gazed off into the northwestern direction and below the trough of the Big Dipper. Low and behold, there it was........... comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE). In the 🐾 paw 🐾 of Ursa Major (the bear). It became visible to my naked eyes at 9:15 PM at an altitude of 14 degrees above the horizon. I lost sight of it at 10:00 PM behind a tree across the street. It was 7 degrees above the horizon at that time.
