I am delighted that my new phone can photograph stellar objects!! It seems to capture best when there is a little ambient light.
A few of us were at the beach, being eaten alive by mosquitoes, waiting for a cloud bank to dissipate. I live in a village of 1000 -- great that there are amateur enthusiasts everywhere!! I have been looking up since I was 10 at Camp Tawingo, near Algonquin Park, some 57 years ago. Naked-eye and binos only... but I am a regular at Starfest, where I get my annual deep-sky hit.
