After spending a week trying to capture Comet NEOWISE before sunrise but being denied by clouds and fog, I was finally rewarded with relatively clear skies and a half-illuminated moon to light up the foreground. The comet was easily seen with the naked eye as I was walking along the path so I set up the camera about a foot off the ground and spent a few minutes focusing on the sky and then focusing on the foreground to insure the final image would be as sharp as possible.
