My 'go to' place near where I live is our city athletics park (soccer, baseball, etc.) It's darker than my neighborhood but still suffers from light pollution from the Kansas City metropolitan area. Limiting magnitude is around magnitudes 2-3 but the comet was still naked-eye visible, just barely, over the northeast horizon.
I planned for this picture after leaving the area the previous morning .
