We don't generally get very good seeing here, so this was a rare opportunity. I've been waiting for another decent comet since West (1976), and this was my first sighting of noctilucent clouds too. Having roused myself at 2.30am (BST, 1.30am UT) I stumbled to a nearby field only to be disappointed... but then I realised it was behind a tree!

This photo has made my year, maybe my decade. Totally unofficial of course, but as this comet doesn't have a name other than the unromantic "C/2020 F3 NEOWISE", and as I took the photo on the birthday of an elderly and very close friend, to me it will be known as "Rosemary's Comet".
