This is a section of land with wind turbines which converts kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. A generator is then used to convert this mechanical power into electricity. Mechanical power itself can also be utilized directly for specific tasks such as pumping water. Took this photo of the wind turbines here at my hometown in Karnataka, India.
