This morning Venus was in conjunction with Aldebaran in early dawn . Look twice; it outshines Aldebaran by 170 times. Venus right now is at its greatest brilliance as the "Morning Star."
Aldebaran derives its name from the Arabic al Dabarān, meaning "the follower", because it seems to follow the Pleiades. Aldebaran is one of the 15 brightest stars, with an apparent visual magnitude of 0.85.
