July Full Moon sets close to December Solstice Sun.
This composite image shows that the 4th of July almost full Moon set just to the left of last December's summer solstice Sun. It would appear that in the southern hemisphere the mid-winter full Moon almost follows the high path of the summer solstice Sun.
