This is the Lophanthera lactescens from the family Malpighiaceae and commonly known as the Golden Chain Tree, Rantai Emas (in Malay). In Chinese it is called chui xu jin hu wei (dangling golden tiger’s tail), huang jin lian zi shu (golden chain tree).

Took this picture at the ground level of my flat today. We may not have the luxury to own a garden, but the shrubs and plants at the common areas are for anyone to admire and enjoy. These flowers dangling from the tree are so beautiful ! Lophanthera lactescens is a semi-deciduous, free-flowering tree native to Brazil and Uruguay.
