Valanga nigricornis, the Javanese grasshopper, a species of grasshopper in the subfamily Cyrtacanthacridinae of the family Acrididae. It is found in southeastern Asia. Saw this locust resting on the pillar of walkway shelter towards the bus stop where a guy was waiting for his bus. It looks big and i stayed 1 m away from it for fear of it flying off. It was first described by the German zoologist Hermann Burmeister in 1838.
