A single male Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus), or crested bulbul, passerine bird found resting on a tree branch this morning briefly. It was about 150 m across my flat and managed to take some pictures of it a distance before it flew away. It has a pointed black crest, white cheeks, brown back, reddish under tail coverts and a long white-tipped tail. It is also distinguished by a red whisker mark below its eye where it got its name. Both male and female birds are believed to be similar in plumage. It was perched on a single branch and also said not be shy of humans.
