Venus, Mercury, and the Moon— Venus is at centre, Mercury to the upper left, and the Moon to the lower left. I knew it was going to be a tricky shot with the young crescent Moon so low at sunset. I picked it up in binoculars at 9:04 p.m. ADT, but the sky conditions were not right to capture all three until 9:30 p.m. and then I had to work quickly. I was lucky that the sky was free of clouds, but haze from forest fires dimmed the Moon considerably at this low altitude.
