I live downtown and watch the sky on every cloudless night to see if I can see anything that EarthSky so faithfully and accurately discusses. The city glow and haze makes everything nearly invisible and in my many years of looking, I have rarely if ever seen anything but the brightest objects. I have never to my knowledge seen Mercury. But tonight after weeks of decreased city pollution, and with lower city lights, suddenly there it was, exactly where you said it would be. At 73 years of age, it was unbelievably exciting. You guys are the best!
