Venus and Mercury setting behind Transmitter Hill at 5.49 & 5.55 pm
A clear sky on Thursday evening provided a good view of the anticipated pairing of Venus and Mercury with the two planets setting within a few minutes of each other three quarters of an hour after sunset. A bright sunset twilight arch again made it difficult to see Mercury until shortly before dusk. In this six frame composite Venus (top to bottom LHS) and then Mercury (top to bottom RHS) can be seen setting into the treeline on Transmitter Hill.
