Speaking of comets, if Charles Messier had spent more time on the French Riviera he certainly would have included C76 on his list of things that look like a comet, but aren't.
At a declination of -42°, C76 is always below the Paris horizon.
Actually, open cluster M7 near the Scorpion's stinger is the southermost object on Charles' list (declination is -35°).
C76 is called the False Comet Cluster because it looks like a comet, but isn't 😊.
