Those who are Moon savvy recognize the significance of specifying the Lunar Day in many of my images.
The Lunar Day defines the phase. There are 29.5 days in a Lunar month. First Quarter occurs on Lunar Day 7, Full Moon on Lunar Day 14 and Last Quarter on Lunar Day 21. Lunar Day 18 is 3 days before Last Quarter. It's that simple. Note that the Lunar Day does not coincide with the Calendar day. Although sometimes it does!
