The central obstruction of the mirror lens (which is like a mini Mak-Cass scope) results in a unique perspective that I cannot replicate with a conventional (e. i. expensive) telephoto lens. I'm always looking for new ways to present celestial apparitions and this cheap lens has given me a new genre of photography to pursue. It's lots of fun, but my neighbors still think I'm crazy when they see me running around the garden with my tripod. You definitely need a tripod! This lens does not have image stabilization. 😊
