A Pink-necked Green Pigeon(Treron vernans) was feeding two young green pigeon fledglings. The green pigeons are usually seen in pairs or small flocks and they usually look for fruiting trees or scrubs for food. The green plumage blends well into the green leaf foliage and sometimes one could not notice them especially when they are camouflage in the trees. The male is distinguished by its pinkish-purple upper breast and shows aggression during feeding. Managed to catch this photo in one single shot when the 3 pigeons were at a distance about 150 m on the canopy of the tree top across from where i live. Now it is the breeding season of this pigeons till July and both sexes of the species incubate and feed during nesting. The fledglings are believed to be near the nesting site for at least about a week.
