Venus, Aldebaran and Pleiades in strange twilight glow .
Here is a picture of Venus (now very bright) , Aldebaran (top) and the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) Star cluster above the summit of Transmitter Hill in a strange magenta twilight glow an hour after sunset on Monday. The cause of this glow is not certain as it occurred long after an earlier bright sunset twilight arch (caused by presence of thinly dispersed stratospheric aerosols) had faded. Although the color is strong in the photograph and forms a beautiful backdrop to the planet and stars, it was barely visible to the naked eye and quickly gave way to darkness.
