A pair of spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) resting on a street lampost. These birds are asmall and have a long tail which is a common resident breeding bird across its native range on the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. This pair was taken across my flat within a range of 100 m. Quite puzzled as to why they prefer to be perched on a lamp post than a tree !
