shadow of syzygy / seeing syzygy / glimpse of syzygy
It seems we caught a glimpse of syzygy here. This was a day we didn't need a compass to catch the first
glimpse of moon rise. We would have seen it sooner if we had followed our own shadows to it.

June 08 2017: Moon rise 8:15 pm / sunset was 9:04 pm.
Full moon was a half day away: next morning, June 09 at 9:10 am.
