Did you know that the Full Moon is 20% brighter when it crosses the Meridian than it is when it's near the horizon? It's true. This is due to the difference in air mass.
It's also closer to you due to the Earth's curvature! It's true. I don't make this stuff up!

BTW, that's my beloved 90mm Mak-Cass in the image. It's cheap, but it keeps me busy and out of mischief.
