If you live in the Tropics, the Sun reaches the Zenith (directly overhead) twice a year. Between the Equinoxes and the Summer Solstice (the Winter Solstice if you're in the Southern Hemisphere). Of course if you live on the Tropic of Cancer or Tropic of Capricorn, it reaches the Zenith only once.
