Red giant Arcturus and blue giant Spica offer up a nice color contrast with the rising Moon.
Arcturus (α Boötes) is the brightest star North of the Celestial Equator (Declination is +19°).
Spica (α Virgo)'s declination is -11° (South of the CE).
