Orion and Scorpius are at opposite ends of the sky. The Full Moon is 90° from each of them tonight. Meaning, each constellation resides in the most polarized area of the sky. Meaning, decent telescopic viewing is afforded in the Lunar glare.
Both images were captured in Astronomical twilight. Meaning, the lighter sky opposite the Moon is not due to Sunset or Sunrise glare.
Differences in white balance are due to the many neighborhood lights in the early evening (top image) vs the absence of ambient light in the wee morning hour (bottom image).
This polarization effect can easily be seen on any clear, sunny day or clear, moonlit night.
