The Dark Horse is the most easily recognizable single absorption nebula in the Milky Way. You will see him in every panoramic image of the galactic plane.
I rotatated this image +90° to show the Horse rearing up on his hind legs.
Have trouble seeing him in your sky? Try a pair of wide field binoculars! (this image is 10° wide)
I always saw the Dark Horse as Juan Valdez's mule carrying a load of Columbian coffee beans. (I've been admiring him for a very long time! I reckon 70% of this community does not know who Juan Valdez is)
