Cold and clear, probably negative 10 degrees with about 18 inches of snowfall the previous two days. About 30 of us snowshoed to the top of Madonna Peak for a sunset and moonrise event. Across the valley, Mt. Mansfield stood bathed in the light and few constellations were visible from the brightness.
