Auriga is one of my favorite winter star portrait subjects. The range of spectral types (colors) is incredible. Capella is of the same spectral class as our Sun (similar surface tempertures).
This is another excellent constellation to explore with a pair of binoculars. Actually, Auriga is reason enough to buy a decent pair of binoculars!
