The meteorite was observed over the south east coast of the Dominican Republic ( La Romana) at 6:42 a.m. before the picture was taken in Puerto Rico at 6:45 a.m. The meteorite has a long con trail of smoke that lingered in the air for several minutes after the meteorite flew past, heading west to east. The meteorite was visible for approximately 5 seconds as a firey object that appeared to be breaking up.
