Iridescent Cloud above Setting Sun
These four close-up views of an iridescent cloud were taken over a five minute interval on Friday evening as the Sun was setting some distance below it. Tiny ice crystals in this high cloud were reflecting light from the setting Sun to produce a colourful display. The cloud was brightest when it was directly above the setting Sun and the colors faded as the Sun disappeared below the horizon.
