Hydrogen-alpha image of my favorite star crossing the Meridian today. From my location, the Suns' altitude is 57° when it culminates. Being near Winter Solstice, this is as low as it gets all year. Which is why it's so hot here!
Note the small white active area in the NE section of the photosphere.
I'm practicing for the partial Solar eclipse on Dec 26. I hope the storms stay away!
