We had been having cloudy skies all day and the East, where the moon was rising, was still full of clouds and moisture, as was the little valley where I live. I suddenly noticed, however, that the western sky had cleared so I grabbed my equipment and headed out of our valley to some open fields and hills that are just West of Pikes Peak. The winds were brisk and the air was much colder, but the moon was behind me and Venus and Saturn were clearly visible.
