In Montana, chasing Monocerotid meteors turned out to be awfully similar to chasing unicorns. Over a four-hour span Thursday night, my cameras captured a grand total of two meteors — only one leading back to the Monocerotid radiant. By comparison, on Wednesday night I caught two random meteors in just one hour, including this one above slash piles burning near Dahl Lake. (Slash piles are branches and debris left over from logging operations.)
