This is a composite of the entire track of Mercury across the sun. I was excited to capture this image with a $500 camera on my own. Camera had no special fittings other than a solar eclipse filter. Hand held exposure. Settings: 1/500 second; f/6.3; ISO 100; lens extended to 1,600mm.
Nikon Coolpix P900, fitted with a solar filter used for eclipses. Hand held.
I shot for 5 hours and processed a composite of the entire track visible from my location, starting at 7:37 am and ending just before 1:00 pm.
