My husband and I were hiking in Mueller State Park this weekend on the West side of Pikes Peak and were delighted to see the waxing Gibbous rising just as the sunset was painting Pikes Peak and the sky a beautiful shade of pink. We had first seen this on the 9th, when the moon rose right next to Pikes Peak, but I didn't have a camera with me. We went back to the same spot this evening with a camera but the moon had moved quite a few degrees away from the peak.
