With the famous Orion the Hunter constellation reappearing in the autumn sky, there are many astronomical jewels in and around it including the Rosette Nebula. This is a lovely nebula about 5,000 light-years away within a large molecular cloud. The brilliant colors are produced from the radiation from the young stars illuminating a surrounding dust cloud. There are numerous new-born stars inside the optical nebula. In the sky, it is located on the upper left side (East) of the famous constellation of Orion the Hunter in the constellation of Monoceros (Unicorn). This is part of the Perseus arm of the Milky Way.

I took this image with a wide field view using a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens set at 70mm. This was attached to the Altair Hypercam 294c Pro TEC camera via "Altair Canon EOS Lens Adapter Spacer for Hypercam". Between the camera and the lens, I inserted the Altair QuadBand narrow band light pollution filter to bring out the nebulosity. This is only a 24 minute exposure due to numerous high passing clouds whereas I had to trash over 3 hours of data between 2-5:30 am

I stacked 24 one minute exposure images then post processed in PixInsight and Photoshop to bring out the nebulosity .
