Mercury and Venus After Sunset
Following two days of unusually cold and wet weather a clear sky with excellent visibility after sunset both Mercury and Venus could be seen in the early evening sky for the first time this month. Venus being brighter first appeared at 6.00.pm with Mercury becoming visible above it ten minutes later. The pair were then captured descending towards the horizon in the fading afterglow of sunset (above) with Venus later setting behind a foothill of Murahwa Mountain at dusk (next submission).
