Northeast section of the waning Gibbous Moon. The fascinating Sea of Serenity points to Hercules and Atlas craters. At this lunation the Serpentine ridge is virtually invisible, but you can clearly see the impact ray that bisects the Sea (the ray actually originates from Tycho!). Note the low reflectivity (albedo) of 100km wide Plato. This crater was filled with lava after the initial impact.
