I did a Google search for why is there a halo around the moon and discovered the answer on EarthSky. An article on EarthSky said moon halos mean rain is coming and it did! On Thursday September 12, 2019 I took this photo of a moon halo, two nights later on September 14 the island of Oahu had a flash flood alert and rainstorm.
