The Full moon of August over the Fire Island Lighthouse, National Shoreline New York. Single exposure. Prospects of imaging the moonrise looked dim as a huge bank of clouds was hovering over the horizon. After about 10 minutes the moon began a game of peek-a-boo where some details of the moon were visible. The sky was darker than usual, as more menacing clouds were out west from our point of view thus muting any twilight illumination after sunset.
