The Hubbard Glacier is located off the coast of Yakutat, Alaska some 200 miles NW of Juneau. Hubbard is more than six miles wide where it meets the ocean and 76 miles long. It is the largest tidewater Glacier in Alaska.
The tour boat gives a sense of scale in the foreground. The terminus or height reaches as high as 100-meters above sea level, or the height of a 30-story building! Despite Global Warming, the Glacier continues to advance.
