A Golden Treat - Last Quarter Moon Appears
At 12.41 am on 25th July, the half illuminated Last Quarter Moon with horizontal terminator was captured above a hill in Cecil Kop Nature Reserve as shown in the accompanying still photograph The golden colour was due to absorption of light by atmospheric haze close to the horizon.
