Media tells us that the best time to view Saturn is during the upcoming opposition. I say the best time is anytime it's visible. 4 months ago, Saturn was imperceivably smaller and dimmer. Difference is, 4 months ago I could easily see the shadow of the planet on the rings, which gave it more of a 3D effect! Of course during opposition there will be no shadow! It's hiding behind Saturn's disc.
