The "Crescent Nebula" (NGC 6888) in the constellation Cygnus is a constantly expanding emission nebula formed by the stellar wind of a swelling red giant star. You can see the leading edge of the bubble very well in this 1.5 hour shot, but even more notable is the incredible density of the star field in the milky way in Cygnus the Swan! This is composed of 45 "light" exposures and thirty "dark" exposures to create this shot. Ah, the summer milky way is here!!
