This was taken from an airplane, right before landing in Boston. The cloud in front is separate from the clouds in the background, and is extremely close to the water. While I’m not sure what kind of cloud it is, it seems to be something related to a roll cloud, since it had a clear cylindrical shape when I saw it from the side.
