Five hours after last quarter, the sunset terminator is showing us a 47% illuminated moon. The terminator moves across the moon at the rate of 10 mph. Of course, at last quarter, the terminator lies directly on the moon's meridian (0° N-S line). The lunar meridian is perpendicular to the Earth's path around the sun. What else can I say?

Oh yeah! You can tell from this image that the moon is 404,000 km away with an apparent diameter of 29.9 arc-min, making this the closest apogee moon of the year. Just joking. No one can tell that. But it's fun to sensationalize.
