This image of Jupiter was taken using my Orion 127mm Maksutov-Cassegrain and a Celestron NextImage 5 (5-megapixel) camera at 3:54 AM EDT, near Kennedy Space Center. The Red Spot was somewhat of an orange-red color, giving the impression of a fried ducks's egg. According to Stellarium, two Jovian moons can bee seen, ice-covered Europa (high albedo) is to the left of Jupiter, and Ganymede just visible about a planet diameter on the right. Skies were clear but there was some upper air turbulence, though the Registax program eliminated most of it. I'm looking forward to some better photos at closest approach using an 8" SCT.
