Waxing Moon with Golden Handle Setting
Perfectly clear sky with good visibility in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 15th May provided some excellent views of the Waxing Gibbous Moon displaying the Golden Handle setting behind the summit of Murahwa Mountain, Mutare. About 4 days before full Moon, when the sun rises above Sinus Iridium on the Moon the Montes Jura are illuminated and form the Golden Handle. On this occasion it was shining brightest as the Moon approached the local horizon.
