I cut my Astronomy teeth in the mid-Northern latitudes, where the Scorpion's tail never got above 10° in altitude. I never saw the sheer beauty of this region until I moved to the Tropics. In this image the Scorpion's stinger (Shaula and Lesath) is 43° above the horizon. What a great mix of spectral types and clusters!
